Derek Tohill secured a second career Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship title in the final weekend of the season at Lydden Hill in front of a sell-out crowd! [November 8-9].
Tohill and the PFCRX squad, alongside DA Racing, entered the final weekend of the 5 Nations BRX campaign (Rounds 10 & 11) in a strong championship position, but knew fast pace would be required to secure a second title to add to their 2021 success. This would be tough against some very strong British and European opposition.
After a hard day’s racing, Tohill lined up in second position in the final race beside title rival Patrick O’Donovan. With a brilliant start, Tohill led the race into turn one and held this position until O’Donovan made an overambitious move, causing heavy contact. This resulted in O’Donovan’s retirement from the race & thus the championship was secured. Tohill crossed the finish line just behind his DA Racing teammate, Andrea Dubourg, who took the victory in front of a sell-out crowd of over 9000 people!
The success marks Tohill as only the 10th driver ever to win multiple British Rallycross Championship crowns.
With the final round of the season taking place on Sunday, Tohill qualified on the front row of the grid for the final and led early on. In what the double European Rallycross Champion and 9-time Irish Rallycross Champion would afterwards describe as ‘a proper rallycross race’, he was ultimately awarded his fourth 5 Nations BRX win of the year.
For the second day in a row, the DA Racing team enjoyed a double-podium, with Dubourg finishing second in the final round of the season, only his second rallycross weekend of the year after claiming victory at Loheac, France, in August.
PFCRX and Tohill will next time return to Mondello Park, for rounds 3 and 4 of the 2025-2026 PartsforCars.ie Irish Rallycross Championship on November 29-30th.

“It feels fantastic to win the title at Lydden Hill, especially against such strong opposition; it’s just amazing. The GB1 number means a massive amount to rallycross history, and I’m very proud to have won that coveted title for a second time. I live for these moments & it was incredible to win it with a round to go and at Lydden Hill, where the venue & events just get better and better!
It was a tough week for me, saying goodbye to my godfather, Frank Fennell. He was my childhood hero and very influential in my motorsport career. We also lost Dermot Carnegie this year, and this victory goes out to those great inspirational men who achieved so much in Motorsport and beyond.
The team worked very hard this weekend and all season. I must say a huge thank you to DA Racing and the Dubourg family for welcoming us into their team and providing us with such a fantastic car. Massive congratulations to Andrea Dubourg on taking victory on the opening day at Lydden.
It was an incredible weekend for the team, taking 1–2 finishes on both days. The atmosphere, the racing, and the teamwork were second to none. I’m so grateful for the hard work, support, and spirit from everyone involved. We have a great team & so many brilliant partners — it’s been a season to remember!
