Derek Tohill and the PFCRX team will embark on an intense week of rallycross action with the opening rounds of the 2024-2025 Irish Rallycross Championship this weekend at Mondello Park [October 4-5], before heading directly to Dreux near Paris for the final round of the French Rallycross Championship just a few days later [October 11-12].

Nine-time Irish Rallycross Champion Tohill enters the Mondello Park weekend seeking a solid start to his challenge for a record 10th title. Meanwhile, with the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy also joining the event for its penultimate weekend, the PFCRX squad aims to net strong points in a bid to challenge for a second British Championship crown to add to Tohill’s 2021 success.

The Irish double-header weekend will feature two different track layouts, with the longer circuit at Mondello last run in early 2023 being used on Saturday, before the regular layout is used on Sunday.

Just four days after the Irish encounter, PFCRX will join the rest of the DA Racing team to conclude a selected campaign of French Rallycross Championship events this season. Looking to capitalise on lessons learned through the first year running the Peugeot 208 WRX, and having previously claimed victory at the Circuit Philippe-Chanoine in the FIA European Rallycross Championship for TouringCar in 2012, the team plans to conclude the French season with an successful and enjoyable weekend.

All of the action will be broadcast from both events via livestream, on the 5 Nations BRX and Rallycross France YouTube channels respectively.

Derek Tohill:

“Racing a rallycross Supercar at Mondello Park never gets old. I have been attending rallycross events there since I was a small boy and to even have the chance to race a top-level car at my home circuit is still never lost on me. It was fantastic to secure our ninth Irish title earlier this year and we go into this weekend knowing that the competition remains strong, so we take nothing for granted. We also have the opportunity to make up some ground in the 5 Nations BRX this weekend so we will try to stay out of trouble and see where we end up, especially with needing the car to be in good shape to go straight to France. Racing in the French Championship alongside DA Racing this year has given me fresh motivation for this amazing sport and hopefully we can end the French season with an enjoyable weekend at Dreux.”
